Spotlight: Google API Development

We harness the awesome power of Google's APIs to create personalized, customized solutions.

Get Smart. Get Google Integrated.

Spotlight: Google API IntegrationMore than just the leader of online search, Google provides a powerful suite of APIs, open to the development world, to use within their own applications. Some popular APIs include:

Why re-invent the wheel when Google has already done such a fine job, and has removed most of the speed bumps? By leveraging Google’s APIs, we can save a lot of time (which equals money) to develop solutions. While Google provides basic documentation to work with these APIs, it often takes a skilled code practitioner to really harness the full power available. That’s where we come in.

Google Maps

Google Maps is probably the most used Google API. At its most basic application, you can include a static image on your site that shows a map point. However, the possibilities go well beyond that to include:

Google Calendar

Rather than writing or purchasing an online calendaring system, use Google Calendar. It’s free, share-able, and can be embedded directly into your website. The calendar can be styled to more closely follow your website’s look and feel.  The calendar’s functionality can also be fully integrated with another application to provide a fully seamless user experience. We employed this functionality with Syringa Property Management‘s back-end Property Site Manager, so that the site managers would have the same interface throughout.

Google Charting

Beyond simple bar charts and line graphs, the Google Charting API allows you to create almost any type of chart or graph on-the-fly or as a static image embedded onto a page. A perfect example of this functionality is the Straitpath Calculator, which displays a custom chart depending on the selections made.
